3 lakes in Oscoda County are 50 ft deep or more by Michigan DNR survey. Tea Lake is the deepest at 70 ft, then McCollum Lake (60 ft), Loon Lake (50 ft) and Perry Lake, Comins Township (48 ft). The depth of the other 25 named lakes has not been surveyed; where an older state estimate exists, the register gives it as an estimate.

Clarity is the depth at which a black-and-white Secchi disk disappears from view. Across 30 lakes with satellite readings, the middle value in Oscoda County is 10 ft. The clearest is Smith Lake at about 19 ft, then Durkee Lake (18 ft), Indian Lake (16 ft) and Loon Lake (15 ft). The least clear is Pike Lake #1 at about 3 ft. Michigan DNR has stocked 10 lakes in Oscoda County 174 times since 1979. Walleye went into 4 lakes: Mack Lake, McCollum Lake, Smith Lake and Tea Lake. The most recent stocking was 19,651 walleye in Tea Lake on 9 June 2026. Loon Lake is designated trout lake (Type B), with their own seasons and limits.
