2 lakes in Osceola County are 75 ft deep or more by Michigan DNR survey. Big Lake is the deepest at 85 ft, then Wells Lake (82 ft), Sunrise Lake (66 ft) and Diamond Lake (60 ft). The depth of the other 33 named lakes has not been surveyed; where an older state estimate exists, the register gives it as an estimate.

Clarity is the depth at which a black-and-white Secchi disk disappears from view. Across 44 lakes with satellite readings, the middle value in Osceola County is 13 ft. The clearest is Strawberry Lake at about 19 ft, then Round Lake (18 ft), Horsehead Lake (17 ft) and Horseshoe Lake (16 ft). The least clear is Mill Pond at about 4 ft. Clarity is not a test for bacteria or algae toxins.

Michigan DNR has stocked 7 lakes in Osceola County 152 times since 1979. Walleye went into 4 lakes: Big Lake, McCoy Lake, Rose Lake and Todd Lake. The most recent stocking was 2,099 rainbow trout in Center Lake on 27 April 2026. Center Lake is designated trout lake (Type C), with their own seasons and limits. Rivers and smaller waters stocked in the county: Coe Creek, Hersey River, Middle Branch River, Muskegon River and Rose Lake Outlet.
