The depth of the other 46 named lakes has not been surveyed; where an older state estimate exists, the register gives it as an estimate.

Clarity is the depth at which a black-and-white Secchi disk disappears from view. Across 45 lakes with satellite readings, the middle value in Genesee County is 9 ft. The clearest is Barnum Lake at about 16 ft, then Softwater Lake (15 ft), Otter Lake (14 ft) and Petts Lake (13 ft). The least clear is Smith Lake at about 3 ft. Clarity is not a test for bacteria or algae toxins.

Michigan DNR has stocked 7 lakes in Genesee County 133 times since 1979. Walleye went into 6 lakes: Buell Lake, Holloway Reservoir, Richfield Township, Kearsley Reservoir, Lake Fenton, Lake Ponemah and Lobdell Lake. The most recent stocking was 42,578 walleye in Lake Fenton on 25 June 2025. Rivers and smaller waters stocked in the county: Black Creek, Flint River, Hasler Lake, Kearsley Creek, Mott Lake, Shiawassee River and Thread Creek.
