The depth of the other 17 named lakes has not been surveyed; where an older state estimate exists, the register gives it as an estimate.

Clarity is the depth at which a black-and-white Secchi disk disappears from view. Across 31 lakes with satellite readings, the middle value in Charlevoix County is 7 ft. The clearest is Round Lake, Charlevoix Township at about 20 ft, then Lake Thumb (17 ft), Booth Lake (17 ft) and Kidney Lake (14 ft). The least clear is Mud Lake, Hayes Township at about 1 ft. Michigan DNR has stocked 8 lakes in Charlevoix County 590 times since 1979. Walleye went into 5 lakes: Boyne River, Fox Lake, Hoffman Lake, Lake Charlevoix and Lake Geneserath. The most recent stocking was 40,381 walleye in Lake Charlevoix on 9 July 2026. Lake Thumb is designated trout lake (Type B), with their own seasons and limits. Rivers and smaller waters stocked in the county: Bear River, Grid 0314, Lake Michigan, Medusa Creek, Mirror Lake, Pine River, Sixmile Lake and Thumb (Louise) Lake.
