Clarity is the depth at which a black-and-white Secchi disk disappears from view. Across 33 lakes with satellite readings, the middle value in Antrim County is 10 ft. The clearest is Torch Lake at about 24 ft, then Sand Lake (18 ft), Wetzel Lake (17 ft) and Birch Lake (16 ft). The least clear is Mud Lake, Echo Township at about 1 ft. Clarity is not a test for bacteria or algae toxins.

Michigan DNR has stocked 8 lakes in Antrim County 278 times since 1979. Walleye went into 6 lakes: Birch Lake, Intermediate Lake, Lake Bellaire, Lake Harold, Sixmile Lake and Thayer Lake. The most recent stocking was 9,665 walleye in Sixmile Lake on 25 June 2026. Torch Lake and Blair Lake are designated trout lakes (Type C, Type E), with their own seasons and limits.
